Konami looks to be pursuing a new working title as we speak. There’s no telling if the title in question is a mobile game, a gacha-slot machine, or some other money-making scheme, but right now the unrevealed title has a tentative name of “Solomon Program.”
First reported by ryokutya2089.com and then translated by Gematsu, it is said that Konami is looking to make a new monster-like battle game. It’s unclear if this upcoming game will launch for PC, PS4, and Xbox One or if it will hit next-gen consoles?
One clue to what system this game will be on can be traced to a trademark back in December 2019. The two websites say that one of the screenshots feature the buttons “A and B,” hinting at a potential Switch release.
While we wait to find out if PC and home consoles or mobile devices will get this game, the report says that players will “control and battle monsters with programs.” In other words, this sounds like it could be a new IP.
Furthermore, Gematsu translated the report saying the monster designs (as per the latest issue of Monthly CoroCoro Comic) are “large in variety” and seem to be similar to “Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon, and Digimon.”
As for the battle system, we know that “Solomon Program” has elements of a strategy game as well as RPGs in that combat follows “strategy RPG-esque” mechanics.
The last piece of info on this mystery game by Konami is that a demo code for the working title will be in “MiraCoro Comic Ver. 2.” In case you are unaware, this is a special edition of CoroCoro Comic that is set to release on January 17th, 2020.
With all of that said, what do you think this game is? Do you think it is a mobile game or something to keep an eye on?
