Rumors Indicate New Silent Hill Games In The Works

Some websites are reporting that some new Silent Hill games are in the works after information made its way around the net via a Twitter user that some are claiming has been consistent with leaking information about Resident Evil titles.

Sankaku Complex picked up the news from Rely On Horror, who in turn picked up the news from Twitter user AestheticGamer, who they claim has been reliable in the past with leaks regarding the aforementioned Resident Evil.

Across a couple of tweets that were published on January 21st, 2020, AestheticGamer wrote…

“In other news while I’m dropping this stuff, and I think I can talk about this, I’ll mention there is a couple new Silent Hill games in the works. Konami about two years ago reached out to various developers to pitch ideas for two Silent Hill games, one a soft-reboot of the franchise, the other an episodic TellTale/Until Dawn-style game to go alongside the reboot. I don’t know anything more than that though, but I sure do hope Konami’s given it the appropriate budget and found the right developer to make those games succeed.

“This is just a guess, but I’d say there’s a high chance one or both of those titles may be revealed this year, but we’ll see. I don’t actually know their plans or anything about these games other than their existence though, I don’t know much about the inner workings of Konami.”

Anything coming from Twitter automatically means I’m skeptical of its veracity. That place is a degenerate den for freaks and misinformation peddlers.

Oftentimes you have to pick and weed through what is and is not bullcrap, and more frequently than not it turns out that the information is bullcrap that was pushed out and made viral by some lonely monstrosity living in San Francisco with a harem of cats and a gender identity crisis that would require would decades of unraveling before being able to classify it as a “normal human” again.

Anyways, I have no interest in a new Silent Hill game because Konami doesn’t know how to make games anymore. I’ll admit I was interested in seeing what Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro would have made with Silent Hills, because the Fox Engine powering the game was cutting edge and del Toro working on the monster designs would have been absolutely remarkable, at least from an artistic perspective. But we’ll never get to see what becomes of that… will we?

Oh well.

As Sankaku Complex pointed out, don’t be surprised if the newest Silent Hill outings (assuming the rumors are true) involve some sort of pachinko variant or is a loot-box riddled piece of crap.

(Thanks for the news tip VersedGamer).
