2015 saw the lewd match-3 puzzle game HuniePop launch on Steam alongside a decensor patch for those that wanted to really get into the “plot.” Word of mouth combined with the allure of the “plot” to drag me into the original. Before I knew I knew it I was hooked on the gameplay loop and the lewd bits became merely just icing on a well-polished cake.
Eventually, with all games, there was no more game to play. Everything was unlocked, every scene seen. The wait began and it has been a long wait for fans of the game. As a recent trailer shows the game is nearly done, just a bit of polish needed here and some development there and we’ll be reveling the sequel.
Unfortunately on multiple levels that is going to have to wait as the developer has developed serious health condition that will require him to take downtime to focus on healing. In a tweet, he broke the news of the game’s delay resulting from his health concerns only to be met with a wave of positive support and understanding.
Serious. Thank you for your understanding. pic.twitter.com/pjAvZ5YPZo

“Hey Guys. Unfortunately, it seems I have once again developed a serious health condition (akin to my mid-2017 health issues, if you’ve been following that long) that will delay HP2, an already very delayed game, more.
“I sincerely apologize. I don’t know how long it will take me to fully recover, but I must prioritize my health for however long the healing process may take.
“All shitposting aside, you guys are some of the most patient and supportive players a dev can ask for (and for a titty puzzle game no less) and I’m extremely grateful to have you.
“I feel like the universe has thrown every obstacle it can think of at this game’s development, but HuniePop 2 (as you can see from the gameplay trailer) is mostly done, it will come out, and it will be epic.”
Although it thoroughly sucks to have to wait longer there isn’t anyone who would exchange the well being of a developer who listens to their community for a game to come out quicker.
