Mark Healey Says He Would Like To Bring Dreams To PC, But Media Molecule’s Focus Is On PS4

Dreams is Media Molecule’s latest title since Tearaway Unfolded. Now that the 2020 creation game is available to pick up on PS4, the creative director Mark Healey talks wanting to bring the title to PC goers, but he’s unsure if Sony would allow for such a thing.

Whether you are a fan of Media Molecule or not, there’s no denying that there aren’t many games out in the wild that gives players the ability to create whatever comes to mind the way Dreams does.

If that sounds like an interesting concept that you can get behind, Healey wants to bring Dreams to PC. This information comes from a new interview between Healey and website videogameschronicle.com.

Telling the site at a launch event on February 13th, 2020, that he thinks it would be great to release Dreams on PC sometime in the future, the website has Healey’s answer when questioned about a PC version as seen below:

“I think that would be cool. I mean obviously Sony have an opinion about that but yeah, I think, I don’t know where it’s going to go in the future, I mean it would be great to see that.”

Healey continues and adds that folks won’t see a PC version right now, but it’s not something out of the equation since it all depends on the games industry and where it goes from here on out:

“That’s not something that’s happening right now, but I think a lot of that depends on where the games industry goes in general, I suppose. I mean I think Sony have become more open recently to publishing stuff on the PC in general anyway, haven’t they? Isn’t there some stuff that’s happening, I’m not sure?”

That “stuff happening” would be Detroit Become Human, Death Stranding, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and other titles such as MLB The Show. However, even if Sony gave the green light, Media Molecule looks to be sticking with the blue brand for a while before jumping over to PC:

“Obviously at the moment we’re focused on PS4 and I would actually hope that it extends the life of the PS4 to be honest with you, then maybe when other companies start making games for it, the community will carry on making games for it, but if it’s as successful as we hope it is then it’s an obvious progression.

You know, it’s a platform, so ideally in the future we’ll migrate to whatever is relevant that’s probably about as much as I can say without getting smacked by someone.”

So there you have it. The creative director over Media Molecule seems to want a PC port, but won’t be making the move anytime soon even if given the opportunity.

Dreams is out now for the PS4 family of consoles.
