The delay even caught the eye of Espiritu, who put up a quick video about the situation.
There’s also link to the official website, where they go slightly more in-depth about the situation, apologizing for any inconvenience for the delay as well as acknowledging that it has had a significant impact on the production schedule.
They state that they will also re-announce the official start date on the official website once July rolls around.
This is one of many anime and public events that have been decidedly affected by the coronavirus and it probably one be the last. In the case of the Doraemon movie that was supposed to have a big event, the distributors had to pull the plug not by choice but because the Coronavirus Countermeasure Task Force basically advised them to, along with any other major events happening, such as the AnimeJapan 2020 event.
At least in the case of The Misfit of Demon King Academy we do know that the show will air in July. However, if the virus continues to spread then it will likely affect future episodes and the second season as well.
