There’s no doubt that WWE 2K20 is as bad as the current product of RAW and Smackdown, but if you want botches alongside glitches, then 2K Games and Visual Concepts’ answer is the 2019 sports game WWE 2K20. However, not many people wanted that “answer,” according to Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick.
Thanks to website gamingbolt.com, we learn that Take-Two Interactive’s latest financial results call did not see WWE 2K20 as being a polished or successful hit.
CEO Strauss Zelnick elaborated on the game’s poor performance and made mention of how the game was a disappointment in the quality and sales department.
Zelnick commented that publisher 2K Games and developer Visual Concepts are still working together to improve the sports game after the disastrous launch.
With all of that said, you can read over the following message Zelnick had for investors during the company’s financial results call:
“While we’re disappointed that WWE 2K20 did not meet our expectations, both in terms of sales and quality, 2K is actively working with Visual Concepts to ensure that these issues are addressed in the future, and they’ll have more to share on their plans soon. The WWE brand continues to expand worldwide, and there remains a substantial long-term opportunity to grow our WWE 2K series by improving the quality of the game.”
Despite the game placing in the top three in UKIE sales charts late last year, it wasn’t to build up enough interest to resurrect the dead game from the grave. Additionally, seeing that it did not meet Take-Two Interactive’s projection means that people were avoiding it or wanted nothing to do with said game — which shouldn’t come in as a surprise.
Despite the refunds, the glitches, and the other various problems plaguing the game, the devs are still “committed” to fixing WWE 2K20.
In the meantime, the game is out now and available to pick up across PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
