Various events and even shows across the entertainment medium have either been pushed or canceled due to the coronavirus. Although the team at TaleWorlds Entertainment will be taking measures to prepare for said strand, the team will not delay Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord.
I’m sure you have read many stories across the web and even here that companies are taking to the digital scene to show off new games, or even going as far as pushing and canceling dates to avoid becoming a breeding ground, right?
For those of you out of the loop, NBA 2K League’s esports event has been postponed, Fast and Furious 9 has been delayed to April 2021, and E3 2020’s physical side is canceled, but folks might be able to watch a live-stream version of the annual games event in the near future.
Although companies are willing to delay or postpone their work due to the coronavirus, it looks like TaleWorlds Entertainment isn’t backing down and wants to get the medieval action-adventure RPG out to gamers as promised.
As per a recent notice sent out to gamers via taleworlds.com, the game will ride into battle headfirst on March 31st, 2020, as announced on February 20th of this year.
Below, you can read the letter to gamers regarding the team, the measures they will take, and how the release date for Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord will stay the same:
“Our primary concern as a company is the health and wellbeing of our employees, their families, and the wider community of which we are all a part. As such, we have taken the decision to close our offices and work remotely for the foreseeable future until the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic is brought under control.
We know that this decision may raise some concerns in regards to what that means for the release of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, however, we want to make it clear that we have thoroughly planned for this eventuality and are confident that we will still meet our goal of releasing the game on 31/03/20.”
I should note that the game will not run at full price when it launches on Steam Early Access, seeing that it will go for $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99.
And for the above price, the Early Access version will boast a new in-house engine, mod support, crafting, a sandbox economy, diplomacy, and of course, all-out warfare.
If all of that sounds like something you can get behind, the PC game is still on target to release to the wild in the next 15 days.
