Rumor Watch: Capcom Has 5 Games Planned for their 2020 Fiscal Year

Lately, rumors have been somewhat limited. What few have broken out have been so spurious they were more wishful thinking than reportable potential leaks. That trend has changed with the latest Capcom leaks from AestheticGamer who has previously broken several later confirmed bits of Capcom news.

In a short series of tweets, he explains how Capcom has four major titles planned for their 2020 fiscal year along with one medium title. I’m unsure what quantifies as a medium title, but my best guess is it will be a title akin to an AA game.

“One last Capcom tweet then I’ll go silent until April. Capcom’s fiscal 2020 year is very impressive, there’s four big titles they’re releasing, including two RE games (one is RE3). There’s also a fifth medium game but not on the same scale as the other four releases. You’ll see this in their fiscal report next month, they’ve got some big hitters coming and they’re expecting big earnings. Now back to me talking normal things.”

What these 5 titles will eventually be is anyone’s guess, but we can offer a bit of speculation based on previously existing rumors. As always a grain of salt any speculation on my part as it is an educated guess, not clairvoyance achieved through seeing the future via big anime tiddies.

Arguably the first game is definitely Resident Evil 3 Remake as it has an April release date and is already confirmed by AestheticGamer to be one of the two Resident Evil games. As Project Resistance is bundled with Resident Evil 3 it can safely be ruled out as both the second Resident Evil title as well as the medium title.

The best bet for the second Resident Evil title is the long-rumored Resident Evil 8 that has been leaked by numerous sources as in development. Though my money is still on it being rebranded Revelations 3 given its significant departure from the series standard.

As Lost Planet 3 likely died with Capcom Vancouver that leaves Dead Rising 5 as one of the remaining contenders for one of the major games. With the original leak confirming it wasn’t in development at Vancouver and Capcom’s dedication to the franchise it is almost a shoo-in. Albeit what form it will take after its long development is a mystery.

Finally, we have the Dino Crisis reboot that has long been leaked and discussed as the final major game. There isn’t much to say about this title other than it potentially has been in development for some time and will be a complete reboot of the original series.

With Capcom bringing back titles from their catalog of IPs it is anyone’s guess what the medium title could be.
