As it pertains to any rumors surrounding a new Silent Hill game, I’ve opted for the wait and see approach. What we know is Konami is developing a new game in the Silent Hill franchise that sees Masahiro Ito returning in a key position.
Nothing beyond that can be confirmed and even more, has been disproven. When inside Dusk Golem initially discussed a new Silent Hill game being in development, I noted that part of his posting was highly skeptical. Chiefly because Konami themselves have denied rumors of them working with Sony to develop a new game.
“We’re aware of all the rumors and reports but can confirm that they are not true. I know it’s not the answer your fans may want to hear.”
“It’s not to say we are completely closing the door on the franchise, just not in the way it is being reported.”
Dusk Golem via twitter has provided clarification of his original statement, but again it is merely a repeat of the originally dismissed rumor. Leaving the probability of it being true to be fairly slim. On the other hand, if Konami is lying about a partnership with Sony it would scarcely be the first time a video game company denied rumors leading up to an announcement confirming said rumors.
Take what you read with a grain of salt. Within the next few months we’ll find out during Sony’s presentations whether or not the rumors are true.

-In late 2019, a seperate close friend in Japan informed me a Silent Hill game was being developed in Japan that had started dev at the start of 2019.
I started doing some personal investigation from this,
