Ghost of Tsushima is still on track to release for PS4 on July 17th, 2020. Ensuring that the game will debut on said date, Sucker Punch Productions has announced that the game has gone gold.
Whether or not you like Ghost of Tsushima, the game has gone gold. If you don’t know what that means, it is a term that refers to a complete project out of development that’s ready for worldwide shipment.
It’s worth noting that some games go gold a month to even two months before release, and in this case, the upcoming samurai/ninja title will release in the next few weeks.
To celebrate this moment, Sucker Punch Productions released the following tweet announcing to gamers and potential fans of the forthcoming game’s latest milestone achieved:
We’re thrilled to announce that #GhostOfTsushima has gone GOLD! This is the culmination of years of hard work from our team and we can’t wait to get it into your hands on July 17! pic.twitter.com/nidZvlqIIk

As for the game itself, the story sees the island of Tsushima on the brink of a full takeover by the Mongol Empire in the late 13th century. Players will assume the role of Jin Sakai, a samurai, who must learn the way of the ghost to ward off the invading force to protect what’s left of his home.
If all of the above sounds like something that you can get behind, the game in question will run folks 50GB to download. Of course, it’s best to keep in mind other updates like day one patches, bug fixes, and additional updates that might increase the minimum 50GB file size to something else.
Lastly, Sony and Sucker Punch Productions will release Ghost of Tsushima this year on July 17th for PS4. Much like other new titles, this game will likely gain PS5 support in the foreseeable future.
