The largest so-called Right-wing sub on Reddit, The_Donald, had over 800,000 subscribers. It was banned on June 29th, 2020 as part of an internet-wide purge of Right-leaning content.
Reddit banned the sub-reddit for allegedly violating site rules 1, 2, and 8.
So what are rules 1, 2, and 8?
Well, if you head over to the Content Policy page, the first rule states…
“[…] Everyone has a right to use Reddit free of harassment, bullying, and threats of violence. Communities and users that incite violence or that promote hate based on identity or vulnerability will be banned.”
So they’re claiming that The_Donald users participated in some form of harassment. They didn’t show any examples, obviously, but you just have to trust the Reddit administrators… the same administrators that admitted to editing a user’s comment after they purged the PizzaGate sub-reddit.
The second rule violation for The_Donald relates to vote manipulation, where it states…
“[…] Post authentic content into communities where you have a personal interest, and do not cheat or engage in content manipulation (including spamming, vote manipulation, ban evasion, or subscriber fraud) or otherwise interfere with or disrupt Reddit communities.”
This means that the administrators believed that users of The_Donald were manipulating the votes to get to the top of Reddit’s most popular subs, even though the sub was banned from appearing on the front page of Reddit.
Alternatively they believed that subscriber fraud was taking place, but given that it was the only pro-Trump sub on Reddit it’s doubtful that they would have to resort to subscriber fraud, especially after they performed a coup against the original moderators, as detailed by Tim Pool.
The last rule violation relates to “breaking” Reddit. It reads…
“Don’t break the site or do anything that interferes with normal use of Reddit.”
I have no idea how The_Donald users would even violate this rule, and of course no examples are provided.
But what’s ironic is that the administrators didn’t consider it breaking Reddit when moderators – under false pretenses – wiped out more than 22,000 comments during the Zoe Quinn scandal she was friends with certain moderators.
But the facts don’t matter, neither do the rules.
Reddit is purging even the most milquetoast subs that pose a threat to the Left’s power-grab during the elections.
They want unified control of the message, and this means collating information through a Left-wing filter without interference or dissent. Hence, even though they compromised The_Donald it was still a potential hazard so they nuked it in its entirety.
You can still discuss all things related to President Trump and anti-Leftism at TheDonald.win.
