Biomutant Will Not Launch With Microtransactions, Says Experiment 101

THQ Nordic and Experiment 101 will release Biomutant sometime this year. Although a delay seems like it’s not out of the equation, the devs are re-assuring fans that Biomutant will not sport microtransactions (MTX).

Experiment 101 is looking to create a complete game. The team wants to make sure that this game’s vision is realized, and quality is top-notch. After all of that’s done, the team might go back and add more content to said game.

This “game” is Biomutant, and it’s so far still shaping up to release for public consumption, meaning it’s not canceled or sitting on ice as we speak. However, Experiment 101 outlines that Biomutant will not feature any form of MTX.

The above information comes from website well-played.com via an interview with Experiment 101’s studio head Stefan Ljungqvist. Additionally, when the site asked Ljungqvist if there are any plans for DLC, microtransactions, or a season pass, he responded with the following:

“Our focus is to finish the main game and realise our vision to the quality we want first and foremost – then we hopefully deserve the right to add more content. One thing we can say about this though – we’ll definitely not have micro transactions in our game.”

Although Experiment 101 won’t add MTX in the game, this notion does not precludet DLC or other forms of purchasable expansions calling for a season pass when the game hits store shelves and the digital scene.

So, what can we take away from all of this? Well, Biomutant will not have any forms of MTX at launch or post-launch. However, DLC or future expansions may pop up in the future.
