Sega’s Phantasy Star Online 2 will become available to pick up for PC via Steam on August 5th, 2020. This news comes a few months after the JRPG MMO became available through the Microsoft Store, and marks the second PC client that gamers can officially play Phantasy Star Online 2 on this year.
PC goers will be able to play Phantasy Star Online 2 next month via Steam, which offers an alternative to the Windows 10 or Microsoft Store. In other words, if you aren’t a fan of the latter platform and wish to play on Gaben’s taste police client, then you can do so come early August.
Furthermore, it’s worth noting that Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will more than likely debut across both PC clients sometime in 2021. In the meantime, you can check out the new trailer announcing the forthcoming Steam release:
“The long awaited Free-To-Play Online RPG Phantasy Star Online 2 has finally arrived! PSO2 features revolutionary gameplay features, such as endless adventures, Hybrid Custom Action, and unprecedented character customization. Become an ARKS Operative today! Adventure awaits!”
Moreover, the MMO RPG minimum specs are up on its Steam page. Sadly, there are no recommended PC specs for Phantasy Star Online 2, which means the former specs will have to do for now:
Minimum PC Specs:
- Requires: 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 64bit
- Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 and above
- Memory: 2 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 7800GT AMD RADEON HD2900XT or a Graphics Card of the same calibur and above
- DirectX: Version 9.0
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 80 GB available space
- Additional Notes: Monitor Resolution: 1280 × 720 and above, Disk Drive 80GB and above (NTFS Format)
Keep in mind that the OS recommendation for Windows 10 may change moving forward. This means other operating systems like Windows 7 or 8 may be compatible contrary to what Sega currently has listed.
Lastly, you can get this game for free right now across the Xbox One family of consoles and for PC through the Microsoft Store. However, the game will become available via Steam next month.
