When it was announced, no one knew how well Yakuza: Like a Dragon would pan out. Unlike previous entries in the series, the game did away with its realistic combat, replacing it with a job-based (read: class-based) turned based RPG system. Many of the long-standing series mechanics would make a return, but without the series’ protagonist, Kiryu, and the classic formula, its future was left in doubt.

Then the game released to instant acclaim, selling faster in the first four days than any previous entry in the series had done. By March, physical copies across Asian and Japan were sold out.

Unlike anything made by Bethesda, the game’s changes and new character just worked. Leaving western audiences pining for their chance to play the game. Eventually, the game saw an announcement for the next-generation but still lacked a western release date. Now courtesy of a gaff by the Microsoft Game Store, that has changed.

The game’s listing places the western launch date for November 12-13 based on one’s region.

When the game launches, it will feature both an English and Japanese cast. The prolific sufferer of Trump Derangement Syndrome George Takei will head the English cast as the patriarch of the Arakawa Family, Masumi Arakawa.

There is no word on who will apprise any of the other roles, but it is surprising Sega would opt for a politically charged figure such as George Takei. The Hollywood personality has, in recent times, been critical about calling the virus that originated out of China, the Chinese Virus. He’s also joined the Traitors of America list with his endorsement of the Marxist insurgency called Black Lives Matter.

One has to love the irony in people complaining about One Angry Gamer discussing politics, yet at the same time have no issue with adding Marxist personalities into gaming. At the very least, those that want nothing to do with such nonsense will be able to enjoy the subtitled Japanese audio.
