According to a new report, it looks like Resident Evil Village will be the longest title in the series. In other words, if you are planning on picking up the game at launch, then get ready to hunker down and play for hours.
A noticeable amount of gamers expressed their displeasure with the length of Resident Evil 3 Remake, along with a list of other issues too. However, it looks like Capcom will try to release a lengthy product this time in the form of Resident Evil Village as per website videogameschronicle.com.
The website and the source mentioned in the article have a pretty solid track record when it comes to rumors, and it’s said that it might take longer to beat both Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 Remake as per leaker Dusk Golem:
(1/2) RE3 is longer than a DLC piece & did include Resistance, though I know many like to neglect that as they personally don’t care about it.
However, if you’re worried about really short RE games, you don’t need to. Let’s just say I have an “inkling” about what RE games are in https://t.co/fRzzUDO8my

(2/2) in dev right now, I’m only talking about RE8 right now but people know RE4 is also coming up at this point. RE8 will be the longest RE Engine game to date, & without saying too much the other stuff coming up should follow a similar trend.

At this point, Resident Evil 4 Remake has not been announced. However, it’s unclear how the upcoming 2021 game dubbed Resident Evil Village will pan out, but what’s known right now is that its development is 60 percent complete.
If you haven’t seen Resident Evil Village, you can check out the official reveal trailer that surfaced during Sony’s June 11th, 2020, PS5 reveal event:
“Fear surrounds you in Resident Evil Village, unleashing a new chapter of survival horror on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2021!”
Resident Evil Village will release for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X sometime next year.
