Exciting news for Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure fans!

The long awaited Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure event had some great news for all fans. What first appeared to be just another event without an announcement for the long-awaited anime for the sixth instalment of the series surprised all viewers in the last few minutes. After the great success of the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind anime, the release of the sequel was more of a question of when rather than if. The announcement came 616 days after Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind concluded.

The sixth part, known as Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, is the first and only part to feature a female protagonist (Jolyne Cujoh). Jolyne is framed for a murder that she did not commit and sent to Green Dolphin Street Jail. While escape is possible, she decides to remain in the prison to eliminate a deeper threat that hides in the prison. Jolyne’s stand is Stone Free, which allows her body to split and move like strings, which she uses to gain the upper hand in fight sequences.

Stone Ocean features a strong cast with great interactions. The fight sequences are some of the best and stand designs are up there as some of the most unique. It even improves on many of the shortcomings of Golden Wind and highlights Hirohiko Araki’s growth as a mangaka.

Jolyne Cujoh will be voice acted by the talented Ai Fairouz, who debuted as the protagonist for How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? and few other roles. As of now, there is no confirmed release date.
