World of Warcraft is one of the most popular MMORPG in the world right today. First released in 2004, the game has grown to reach an average monthly player count of 6.5 million and still counting. This compounded by WoW Arena Carry boost services and Blizzard’s sustained efforts towards maintaining the lively nature of WoW in the form of expansions and patches guarantees that this number will continue to grow. Indeed, World of Warcraft’s servers were revamped in 2020 with the expanded Shadowlands. With this expansion came about a ton of new content and features, which were previously unavailable in the game.
As Blizzard continues overhauling the state of the game with dozens of bold mechanics and features, there’s some divided opinion about the game. On one hand, some players are urging Blizzard to continue revamping the game, while others argue that morbid subject matter signals the sunset days for the entire game.
This begs the question; What new thing does Shadowlands bring to the table?
In this WoW PvP guide, we are going to look at the different rewards you will receive for participating in Player vs. Player content. While at it, we’re going to reveal useful tips on how you can get these rewards.
But first, let’s get the basics out of the way…
Table of Contents
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Special Editions
The new World of Warcraft: Shadowlands series comes with three special editions, all of which have a no pre-order bonus. They include the Base, Heroic, and Epic Editions, and they allow players to enjoy new mounts, pets, and questlines.
As the name suggests, WoW: Shadowlands Base Edition offers zero additional content, and it comes at a cost of $39.99. If you want to enjoy additional perks, however, the Heroic Edition will suit you. It comes with Vestments of the Eternal Traveler transmogrification set quest, Ensorcelled Everwyrm flying mount, and a single 120 Character Boost. In terms of pricing, the Heroic Edition goes at $59.99.
For $79.99, you can also purchase the Epic Edition, which comes with perks like Eternal Traveler’s Hearthstone, Wraithchill cosmetic weapon effect, Anima Wyrmling pet, and up to 30 days worth of game time.
WoW Shadowlands Gameplay
A lot has changed in terms of WoW Shadowlands gameplay. For starters, there are four distinct linear zones namely Bastion, Revendreath, Maldrazzus, and Ardenweald. Each of these zones belongs to covenants, and you can align yourself with the respective zones after attaining the new level cap. What’s more, these new covenants and zones allow players to enjoy plenty of bonuses including looting buffs from major dungeons, special armor, and other unique abilities.
There are significant improvements in the navigation department, plus the popular PvP World Quests have also made a comeback. And for the first time since the release of WoW, players can now enjoy Shadowlands stat squish, as well as a level squish. Consequently, the max level is reduced from 120 to 60, with the level 120 characters being reduced to level 50. With these changes, players have plenty of opportunities to climb through the newly introduced Shadowlands content.
The Corruption mechanic in the Battle of Azeroth ceases to exist, although it remains in Island Expeditions, Warfronts, and Horrific Visions. Along with that, WoW: Shadowlands alpha players get to enjoy a new Adventures System, which appears to be an upgrade of the Mission system. Better yet, it’s now possible to choose five allies for the battlefield, and the results can be accessed via the combat log.

Ranked Play & Associated Titles
Ranked play entails competing for a title or titles that have specific cutoff points and ratings, such as Gladiator or Duelist. By participating and winning titles in these games, you become eligible to win a specific reward like special mounts or gear upon reaching the cutoff point.
Gladiator Mounts
All players in a particular PvP season have an associated mount that they gradually work towards achieving by playing more games. Also known as seasonal mounts, they’re available in Shadowlands, including the Vicious Saddle system.
Honor and Conquest
When playing WoW: Shadowlands PvP, you get to receive Honor from all the activities you participate in and Conquest from specified activities. What’s more, players can earn as much Honor as possible, although Conquest is earned from Rated PvP activities, and it has a weekly accumulation cap of 550. Both Honor and Conquest can be used to buy the initial pieces of gear, which can be upgraded later as you rank up in Renown Covenant.
War Mode
If you choose to switch to War Mode in either Orgrimmar or Stormwind, you activate World PvP with the opposing faction, making you eligible for dozens of War Mode-specific Achievements. Once completed, you’re rewarded with both a special mount and title.
Transmogrification Sets
Whether you’re playing basic or elite PvP versions, there is a great deal of armor class to be earned. These special armors are unlocked as you rank up in PvP Rated Play. Upon reaching a 2.1k rating, you can enjoy different transmogrification sets, tabards, weapon appearances, and expansion-specific illusions.
