Making the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Review after one year it was released is one of the joys I can get while playing games and making the review. I mean, the game is fun and enjoyable, it doesn’t waste all my money and time at all. Today, I can say let’s roll out to find out about all the good aspects within the game that will make you fall in love. Here we go!
Ubisoft is now taking things more seriously (and differently) in their latest game. Since the Assassin’s Creed Origin, the developer is now putting their focus on the combat and character development side. I kinda worried they would change the game’s identity when they did that in the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, but turns out I was wrong. Luckily.
The game that I talked about is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – the latest successor in the assassin’s creed series. It’s an action role-playing game that focuses more on combat style and the freedom of the player but still keeps the dramatic tragedy between the Assassin and the Templar. It can be considered a huge success for Ubisoft because this game is hype! Just within a month (or a week) they already become the game with the most sales within the series.
As for me, I found the game amusing and really enjoyable to play. And with this AC Valhalla review, we will reveal them and hopefully, it becomes a guide for you to enter the fandom. Let’s go out!
And not only that, there are reasons why you need to play this game and it’s a lot! So, without further ado, let’s just jump to it:
Table of Contents
The game
The Valhalla assassin’s creed is definitely a blast. The game system that revolutionized the Assassin’s Creed game and the well-developed story make this game one of the better versions among all the AC games. I am especially pointing out their effort to finally (yes, finally!) turn back the history of the Assassin’s Creed vs the Templar within the game. I can say that it makes things more ‘assassin’-ish than I miss in the Odyssey.
The gameplay is smooth and the combo is well executed and the skill tree completes the concept of RPG within the game. It’s now different with the new constellation style but kinda different and challenging when the hidden skill is really ‘hidden’ and you need points to reveal it. It’s not surprising but it’s also one of the reasons you need to take time to hunt and collect all the skill points. In the meanwhile, the graphic is really mesmerizing. I can say you wouldn’t get bored with it.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla review of the grapichs
Speaking about the graphics, it’s superb! I mean seriously. This is one of the highest points to mention in this AC Valhalla Review. Ubisoft never fails when they make games with high-grade graphics that is so pleasing to the eye. The attention to detail to everything – trees, stones, waters, and the splashing blood. It reminds me of the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey with its own mesmerizing graphics.
Making very good graphics gives a different type of challenge for the developer and sometimes bugs are inevitable especially for a game of this caliber. Well, it’s not an annoying thing where I need to restart the game to remove them but this game just decides to do it by itself. Therefore, finding bugs in the game is kinda funny in its own way.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Review of the map
It isn’t fair to compare the maps of AC Valhalla with the AC Odyssey. In size, Odyssey has a bigger map but they are land and sea in a form of the archipelago. With Valhalla, the size of the map is smaller but it seems more compact with lands divided by rivers and sea. Therefore, the naval transport is still there but unfortunately no naval combats. In this kind of map, sometimes it’s better to stick into the land rather going into the water.
Stories
After the graphics, maps, and gameplay, it’s time to complete this AC Valhalla Review with another main reason you need to play this game – it’s the stories. Now since Ubisoft make decisions to put the conflict of Assassin and Templar back on track, things got more interesting but sometimes, I feel it makes sense because of the event in which the Vikings are expanding into the British archipelago. They really are making a good choice. I feel good.
A bit of story, the game sets up 400 years after the event of the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, focusing on the main character named Eivor Varinsdottir – the Viking of the Raven Clan who will then become entangled with the everlasting conflict of assassin’s and templar.
The storytelling is a little bit different. When you are able to choose between male or female characters, now you have one new option to let the story choose which character for you to play based on how the story flows.
The Assassin’s Creed Valhalla story system is slightly the same but also different from the predecessor. Like how you can choose either female or male, and you can also let the system make the choice based on the stories. I mean, that’s a better choice if you want to see the true story of the game.
Availabilities
This time things went a bit different, though, the game is still available on some platforms. Mentioning games like the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Ps4, the Valhalla Xbox one as well as steam’s version of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Albeit its availability in every big console, unfortunately, you will not find the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in Switch though.
Cheats and codes
As part of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Review, it is customary to mention these sections (although not particularly needed).
Now, you probably played it a few times already and when you want to play more, you just don’t know what to do. Then, it comes for the time you broke the code to reach the next level of gaming – just do it your way!
If we talk about cheat and codes, yes it is possible. There are various sources to get the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla cheat. One of them is through the third-party app called WeMod and it becomes user-friendly especially for steam users. The Assassin’s Creed Valhalla mods also widely used made it one of the best third-party apps for trainers.
Other than the WeMod, the AC Valhalla trainer is also available through a bit of a complicated method where you need to copy files and extract the trainer within the game. But since you will hack the game system, use it at your own risk.
The Final Verdict
I mean, the game is definitely different from the era before the assassin’s creed Origin. After that, things just went differently but it’s a good difference. I am just happy when Ubisoft trying to put things together again like the time where the assassin’s story is something I can enjoy. The point is, I recommend this game if you love the assassin’s creed series.
Gameplay-wise, it’s smart. The story is a bit complicated but hey, that’s a good part, isn’t it? The graphic is superb (with a little bit of glitch that is fun then it catches you). The character is wide as well with a deep story. The twist between the Vikings, the assassin, and the templar is also a good reason to play the game. Although it takes quite a long time to finish the main story, I never see the reason why you don’t replay the game. It depends on the people, of course, but I can say all the aspects above are the reasons why it is replayable.
