6 games like for honor

Games like For Honor is a game that can be best described as a “martial arts simulator.” It was released in February of 2017, and it has been gaining in popularity ever since. The premise of the game is to pit teams of players against each other in a variety of different battlefields, all while using medieval weaponry to slaughter your opponents. If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, then For Honor is definitely the game for you.

Some games like For Honor for you to check

The question is, are there any games available to play similar to For Honor? The answer to that question is yes, and if you’re interested then keep reading. Here are some of the best games like For Honor that you should be playing.

1) Chivalry: Medieval Warfare (2014)

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a game that you might have heard of before, as it has been around since 2014. In the game, you are given control of a medieval warrior with a variety of weapons at your disposal. Each warrior also has his own class and perks which ultimately determine how they fight. Some classes have more armor than others, while some classes wield axes and other weapons that are capable of inflicting more damage. All in all, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a fun game that will remind you of the For Honor gameplay experience. The graphics aren’t fantastic, but the melee combat is second-to-none.

In addition to being similar to For Honor, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is also similar to games like Skyrim and Mount & Blade.

2) War of the Roses (2012)

War of the Roses, although just a 2012 release, is another game that can be likened to For Honor. If you’re familiar with titles such as Dynasty Warriors and Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, then you’ll feel right at home with this title. In the game, you play as a soldier in one of two factions that are fighting for control over England. Your goal is to be the last man standing on both sides of the battlefield and to achieve that end you must use medieval weaponry such as swords, bows, maces, and axes.

In War of the Roses, your character is bestowed with a skill tree upon leveling up. This skill tree allows you to unlock perks and abilities that can help you to demolish your opponents. It’s not as complex as For Honor‘s perk system, but it does give players an edge during battle which results in them being able to fight more competitively.

3) Mount & Blade: Warband (2010)

Mount & Blade: Warband is a game that I’ve mentioned once or twice before on this website. It’s one of the best games like For Honor, and it takes place in a medieval time period. Players will take control of a character, customize him or her in some way, and then explore the vast open-world that this game has to offer. The war simulation aspect of Mount & Blade: Warband is similar to For Honor, where players are pitted against one another in large battlefields while using medieval weaponry. Instead of utilizing perks like For Honor, however, Mount & Blade: Warband allows players to upgrade their player via a skill tree system.

4) Call of Chivalry (2012)

Call of Chivalry, as you might guess from the name, is another game like For Honor. It’s not overly popular and it’s definitely on the lower end of our list, but it’s still worth mentioning. In the game, you are given control of a medieval warrior who is then thrust into brutal melee combat. Although all the fighting gets repetitive after a while, Call of Chivalry does offer players plenty of weapons to use in order to take out their opponents. Some of these weapons include swords, shields, maces, spears, and battleaxes.

The maps in Call of Chivalry are designed so that you’ll be fighting on top of platforms that get progressively smaller as the game goes on. This ultimately allows you to gain an advantage over your opponent because it becomes increasingly difficult for them to move around. If they try to avoid combat by running away, they’re more likely to stumble off the map and lose the round.

5) Battle of Empires: 1914-1918 (2015)

Battle of Empires: 1914-1918 is made by the same company that brought us games like Red Crucible Firestorm, so it should be no surprise that it has a very similar combat system. Although it is old, Battle of Empires: 1914-1918 has stood the test of time and still has a dedicated fanbase that continues to play this game.

Like For Honor, you can choose from multiple different classes in Battle of Empires: 1914-1918. Each class has special attributes that make them unique, such as being able to move faster or being able to run for long distances without getting tired. You can level up your class by using it, allowing you to unlock new abilities which you can use on the battlefield. Battle of Empires: 1914-1918 also gives you points when you are victorious during a round, and these points are then used to upgrade your character.

6) Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires (2015)

Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires is an open-world action game, but it has similarities to For Honor in that you must fight against other enemies during the campaign. The combat system consists of combos, blocks/parries, and quick-time events, which are all similar to what you’ll find in For Honor. The combat is a bit faster-paced than For Honor‘s, however.

Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires also has a Dynasty Mode where you can build up your own kingdom or join another one. You do this by recruiting new warriors and managing your resources. This leads to some empire-building elements which are similar to games like Civilization 6.

All of the games like For Honor that we’ve mentioned in this article are great for anyone who wants to get into melee combat. They all offer a unique experience, and they provide hours of entertainment for players.
