Codemasters has brought forth a handful of screenshots showing work in progress or early builds of F1 2016. The game’s graphics are noted to change, and will be joined by the most “immersive career” mode in the series. F1 2016 is slated to come out this Summer for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
This information comes directly from developer Codemasters, who took to its official blog to announce that the upcoming F1 2016 game will be available across said consoles and PC, and will be available sometime this Summer. However, the screenshots revealed are “work in progress,” meaning that they are prone to change when it releases to the public.
Instead of comparing the game to other racing games, I notice the devs mention a lot that they are trying to make this entry better than F1 2015, and past iterations. Speaking of which, the team noted that this latest entry will have the “most immersive career mode of the entire franchise.” The new career mode will sport the Safety Car and Virtual Safety Car, as well as some new tracks located in Baku, Azerbaijan.
According to Lee Mather, who stands as the principal game designer, noted that…
“F1 2016 is a massive step forward for the franchise. The new career mode sits at the heart of the game and allows gamers to create their own legend over a career that can span for up to a massive ten seasons.”
In addition to what Mather’s had to say, he goes on to mention that the upcoming game will offer more content and features in the franchise. This is joined by the above of the Safety Car and Virtual Safety Car noted below.
“The career mode, together with the re-introduction of the Safety Car, the first inclusion of the Virtual Safety Car and a number of other unannounced improvements means that F1 2016 will have more new features than any other year of the franchise.”
According to the post on the blog page, players will be able to pick their avatar and a number of themes in the career mode. Various Formula One teams will make an appearance that players can join up with. Each team will possess their very own aspirations and goals, which is accompanied by expectations, and if one doesn’t fit into your criteria you can earn contracts and race to be a champion of that team.
