E3 2016: Bound Releases Stunning Artistic Gameplay Trailer

When I first saw Bound I didn’t know what to expect from the title. When the music started playing and I saw what the game was actually like, it left me speechless.

Bound is a new platform adventure game made by Playtic and Santa Monica Studios for the PlayStation 4. The trailer was released yesterday during E3, and I must say that I was impressed so far with what I have seen and the way they have worked the visuals in with gameplay. Of course, the trailer is rather short so we don’t see much of actual gameplay. Regardless, it gives us a pretty good idea about what the game might be like.

The visual art style is in a cel-shaded polygon world, and although the colors and graphics are simple, the visual aesthetics makes it breathtaking the way it is presented and put together. Bound is unique because it features ballet style platforming. I know, right? What a strange concept, but seeing it in game actually made it look really cool and original.

The world that they place you in is both mysterious, beautiful, and filled with magic and fantasy. The way the environment reacts and moves, and the way the animations are so smooth, fluent, and effortless, makes Bound stand out for its amazing artistic and visual quality. The official description for Bound in the YouTube video is interesting, because it says:

“Bound transports you into a beautiful, fantastical world that exists in the mind of a woman revisiting the memories of her childhood. You’ll use dance moves to traverse vast environments filled with platforming challenges. As the game progresses, the introspective story unfolds through powerful metaphor and imagery, adding emotional depth to the protagonist’s journey.”

Take a look at the official E3 Playstation 4 gameplay trailer for Bound that I linked down below.

Even the official website was designed to grab your interest as the protagonist dances across the screen and objects move about to make you want to see more. As of the time of this article, there isn’t much else on the official website at the moment, however, the description for the above YouTube video does say that Bound will be available August 16, 2016.
