Remastered Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Will Get 6 Free Maps In December

Activision has announced that they will be hosting a multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on October 14th for the PS4. Following that they also announced that there will be a total of 16 multiplayer maps included in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s remastered edition. 10 of the maps will be bundled into the standard package while an additional six will be made available, for free, in December.

The news comes courtesy of Activision’s Call of Duty: XP fan event that took place this weekend. They live-streamed the event over on the Call of Duty Twitch channel.

Rob Kostich, EVP and GM of Call of Duty at Activision explained that the Call of Duty XP event was to help bolster the appeal of the upcoming beta, which will launch first on the PlayStation 4…

“We’re continuing the momentum from XP next month as fans around the world will be able to join us online to play in the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare multiplayer beta, which will give fans a chance to play multiplayer early and will help us to further polish the MP experience as we head into launch.”

This beta test comes after DICE and EA held their own beta for Battlefield 1, which sent the gaming community into a frenzy as everyone wanted to play-test the game ahead of launch.

When Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare launches at the start of November, those who pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition will get a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s remastered edition, with 10 multiplayer maps and the full campaign out of the box. The game will be a digital download, however. No actual boxed copies will be shipped out. The additional six multiplayer maps will be made available starting December 31st, 2016.

They roll out a bit more info about the event, the multiplayer maps and the beta over on the official Call of Duty website.
