Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment may have screwed over PC gamers with poor console ports from port houses who just didn’t put in the time or effort to make the PC version of games like Mortal Kombat X work right out of the box, but the publisher went back to the drawing board, found a different port house and decided to give it another go with Mortal Kombat XL. They’ve finally narrowed down both a release date and a price for the belated definitive edition of the 2015 fighting game.
DSO Gaming is reporting that a promo sheet has gone live for Mortal Kombat XL, featuring pricing for the bundle package, the DLC and the expansion, each costing something different depending on what you’re in need of.
The full pack of Mortal Kombat XL featuring the full game, all of the previously released DLC and the second season content pack will be available for $39.99 for anyone who does not own Mortal Kombat X.
If you already own Mortal Kombat X but you don’t own any of the DLC, you can purchase the Mortal Kombat XL Pack, which is only $12.49, featuring all the previously released DLC, the new netcode update and the second season DLC pack.
If you already own the entire first season DLC pack and you already own the base Mortal Kombat X, you can get your hands on just the second season DLC pack for $9.99, this includes four skin packs and the five second season DLC characters, the Xenomorph, Leatherface, Bo ‘Rai Cho, Goro and Triborg.
The original version of the game didn’t work out so great on PC and a lot of people ended up turning on Warner Bros. This was exacerbated with the poor port of Batman: Arkham Knight for the PC, which launched just a little after Mortal Kombat X. The major issue for Warner Bros., is in finding that balance so that the port houses aren’t ruining what are otherwise considered great games. The publisher has a long road back up to the top as they attempt to regain the trust of PC gamers.
