Ubisoft is celebrating their 30th anniversary with a digital party filled with monthly free games. During this month’s free giveaway, Ubisoft has the PC version of Assassin’s Creed III up for grabs.

You can get your hands on the game right now from over on the Club Ubisoft website. You only have to register for a Ubisoft Club account and download Assassin’s Creed III for free.

This joins Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Splinter Cell, Rayman Origins, The Crew, Beyond Good & Evil and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, each of which were also given away throughout 2016 starting back in June.

There’s really nothing to lose but bandwidth if you do decide to get in on Ubisoft’s limited time offer. Despite some of the reviews out there, I actually really enjoyed Assassin’s Creed III as far as the mechanics were concerned. The combat and combat options were really layered, and offered players a lot of awesome opportunities to string together some cinematic quality combat sequences the likes of which haven’t been made available in other games since. There’s nothing that quite compares to using a rope dart from atop a tree branch and then stringing up a soldier while coming down and stabbing the soldiers in the back with the twin blades.

Assassin’s Creed III also introduced the naval elements to the franchise, sending Conor across the high-seas on various missions to either uncover treasures, stop raiders or explore new locations.

The game was also the first to introduce hunting into Assassin’s Creed, where players could use bait, traps and tracking skills to hunt down animals and acquire meat, pelts or other resources.

The loading in the game was definitely a huge turnoff, and the micro-questing in the story made it a real chore at times, but overall they put in a lot of content into Assassin’s Creed III. It was also one of the few games where newer and larger maps just kept opening up while playing through the game, where I was left a bit bemused at the fact that usually open-world games leave you thinking “Is this it? Where’s the rest of it?” but this time it left me saying “How much more do I have to unlock?”
