Electronic Arts and BioWare are doing things slightly different with Mass Effect: Andromeda: The upcoming sci-fi space opera will not launch with a season pass.
DualShockers spotted the news from a tweet made by BioWare general manager Aaryn Flynn, who responded to a fan asking about the season pass for Mass Effect: Andromeda. Flynn responded by saying that there wouldn’t be one.
@coldboy33 @masseffect Nope

Further into the thread he also mentions that this doesn’t completely rule out DLC, but they’ll discuss the specifics about the DLC at a later date.
@coldboy33 @masseffect We’ll talk more about that later 🙂

This wouldn’t be surprising if they announced that there would be multiplayer DLC, but the single-player would just be one standalone adventure. I think that would probably be for the best.
Mass Effect 3 had plenty of multiplayer DLC and the day-one DLC, but only had sparse offerings in terms of the single-player campaign. They might look to repeat that approach with Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Some gamers are hoping for DLC equivalent to Mass Effect 2, which seamlessly tied into the main campaign. Others are hoping that EA and BioWare mimic what Respawn and Blizzard have done with their multiplayer games, offering free maps and characters but having microtransactions elsewhere. The Coalition also did a similar thing with Gears of War 4, following in the footsteps of 343 Industries’ approach to Halo 5 DLC.
We’ll likely get details about the DLC roadmap closer to launch, when the game arrives on store shelves and digital distribution outlets on March 21st, 2017 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. DualShockers also mentioned that those with EA Access would also gain early access to Mass Effect: Andromeda before everyone else.
Some gamers are withholding pre-ordering or purchasing Mass Effect: Andromeda due to the blatant racism exhibited by one of the game designers who said that the studio supported his public-facing comments about a certain race.
