Neverwinter: Storm King’s Thunder – Sea Of Moving Ice Lands On PS4, Xbox One

Perfect World Entertainment’s Neverwinter: Storm King’s Thunder – Sea of Moving Ice is a freaking mouthful. The massive new update for the long running MMO has just recently become available for the Xbox One and PS4.

The update sports some huge new features that drastically alter the gameplay, such as the ability to travel between isles using the new nautical seafaring tools, including various boots and water vessels for players to acquire.

The story picks up where the last expansion left off, with the heroes of Neverwinter seeking to return the Ring of Winter. As detailed over on the Arc Games website, the heroes took leave to the frozen city streets of the Bryn Shander, only to find that they would then have to travel through Lonelywood in order to reach Cold Run. During this time one of the heroes perished at the hands of the Frost Giants, but the journey had to continue on to recover the ring while traveling through the Sea of Moving Ice.

It’s here that the story picks back up and sees players having to traverse through the ice-cold waters, battling rivals, minions of the sea and the frost of the giants that have taken up hold in Svardborg.

The quest to retrieve the ring will see players having to face off against Jarl Storvald in his ice fortress, guarded by fierce frost giants.

The update features half a dozen new isles to explore and travel across in the Sea of Moving Ice, as well as the new vessel to acquire in order to make the journey, new level 70 trial pits, all new artifact weapons to recover, and a new fishing mini-game to capture fish and increase reputation points to unlock new gear.

The combat in Neverwinter was a little too casual for my tastes. The more weighty and hardcore combos and counter-mechanics featured in RaiderZ was far more to my liking. Even still if you want to play Neverwinter on PS4 or Xbox One, you can download the client and the latest update right now.

On Xbox you will need Xbox Live Gold in order to play Neverwinter: Storm King’s Thunder. For more info you can visit the official website.
