Deadly Premonition: The Board Game Gets Funded In Under A Day On Kickstarter

Apparently a lot of people really love the game Deadly Premonition, and even more than that, a lot of people really want to play a board game version of the title.

Rising Star Games announced that they have Kickstarter currently running to fund the creation and manufacturing of a board game based on Swery’s outlandish horror game, Deadly Premonition.

Project co-creator Samuel Elphick explained what they were hoping to achieve with the board game, explaining in the press release…

“Our vision was to create a compelling, atmospheric game inspired by Deadly Premonition’s delivery of big reveals, plot twists and consequential moments”

“The venture started out as an idea between colleagues. With hopeful optimism we put together a proposal for Swery and he loved it. Way back in June 2015 we created our first prototype for “Incrimination”, which was the skeleton that Deadly Premonition: The Board Game is built upon… We hope you enjoy!”

You can check out the five minute pitch video that explains a bit more about the project.

The game is a 2 – 4 player adversarial board game, where players must discover which of the four players is the killer.

I’m sure you’re asking why is Rising Star Games asking for $50,000 to make a board game? Well, apparently they’re just supporting the project, and the real legwork is being done by Daniel Osuna Perez and Samuel Elphick. Oh yeah, and Swery seems to support the project as well, where he does so while jumping on a trampoline. I don’t really get it, but he gets it done.

The project was funded with well over the $50,000 goal is just under a day. More than 1,000 backers have already pledged to the campaign and it’s currently sitting at $60,000 as of the writing of this article. They still have 29 days to go to get the entire thing funded by June 8th.
