Day Of Infamy Receives Free Dunkirk Map Update To Coincide With Movie

In celebration of the release of the Dunkirk movie by Christopher Nolan, New World Interactive released a free new update for Day of Infamy, the World War II first-person shooter that’s currently available on PC.

The free update includes the Dunkirk map, the new Breville map, and all new grass.

I doubt anyone cares about the grass being updated, but the free Dunkirk map update will surely help get some gamers in the mood to either read up on some history or go check out Nolan’s historically profound film based on the landmark battle.

Creative director Andrew Spearin explained how the map adds some extra layers of strategy and depth to the gameplay, mentioning in the press release…

“Our Dunkirk map offers a unique gameplay perspective by inverting the flow of battle so it ends on the beach instead of starting there,”

You can see a little bit of the map in play with the launch trailer for the update, which is currently live for the game. You can check out the trailer below.

The map centers around the efforts of 338,226 troops were cut off and surrounded by enemy troops on the beach of Dunkirk, France. They also have a second map called Breville, which sees the paratroopers from the British 6th Airborne taking their efforts to the liberation front by attempting to free the small French village from the Germans just after D-Day.

This map was designed around the new grass and foliage system, which makes it where visibility and positioning play a huge role in attempting to attain and maintain an advantageous position over the enemy.

You can grab Day of Infamy right now from over on the Steam store page for $19.99. The Dunkirk map pack is part of the latest update for the game, which went live on July 21st ahead of the release of the Dunkirk film. You can get the map pack for free, right now.
