Ravencourt and Voxler announced that Let’s Sing 2018 will be released later this year during the fall and winter for home consoles. The game will be available on October 20th for the PS4, Wii, and Wii U. During Christmas the game will release on the Nintendo Switch.

The game will contain 30 different international “smash hits”, including Coldplay’s “Hymn for the Weekend”, Alan Walker’s “Faded”, Gnashfeaturing Olivia O’Brien’s “I Hate U, I Love U”, Calvin Harris’ “My Way”, and the Chainsmokers featuring Halsey’s “Closer”. There are also lyrically poignant songs like Lukas Craham’s “7 Years” that will also make the cut.

There will be single-player and multiplayer modes as well, including local challenge modes, and a brand new mode called “Mix Tape”.

The multiplayer mode on the Switch will have a special two-player mode option, while the PS4 and Wii versions will support up to four players. They don’t mention if the Switch version will support two players via a single set of Joy-Cons or if you need two sets.

Also, the game won’t feature online multiplayer… so if you don’t have any friends that you know locally… tough luck, kiddo.

The developers also updated the game’s visuals, and added in unlockable content, including collecting avatars, unlocking new music, and various challenge awards.

Let’s Sing 2018 seems like the sort of casual game that just kind of slides onto a system like the Switch and ends up making absurd amounts of money from people who don’t necessarily know any better but don’t seem to mind filling up their library with casual games.

If you don’t have discerning tastes, you can look for this game to arrive on the Nintendo Switch this Christmas. If you already own the previous entries of the series on your PS4 and you want to keep the annual tradition going, you can do so starting this October. And, of course, if you actually still play ancient systems like the Wii or Wii U, you can also buy the game for those as well… but that’s the equivalent of buying an eight-track tape for an eight-track player.
