Soul Calibur VI Has Two Game Modes Veiled That Will Join Soul Chronicle

We know that Soul Calibur VI will have different game modes and another story mode that’s currently in preparation. However, we might get to see one of these new modes sometime soon given that Soul Calibur VI’s Japanese website has been updated showing two mystery slots.

Not too long ago, Bandai Namco released a new batch of screenshots of Soul Calibur VI on its Japanese website, showcasing the story mode or campaign known as “Soul Chronicle.” Upon clicking on the Soul Chronicle tab will bring you to a page showing a “magnificent story of souls and swords” through drawn illustrations, 3D cutscenes, battles, and more.

Back on the main menu page of Game Modes regarding Soul Calibur VI, we can see two hidden modes after the update labeled “Coming Soon.”

Soul Calibur 6 story 2

Highlights from two interviews back on June 17th and 19th include tidbits about new characters that are involved in the Soul Chronicle mode along with new “episodes” that haven’t been revealed yet.

In addition to the above, there is going to be another story mode that’s in preparation right now. Not only was the aforesaid mentioned during The Koalition interview Okubo also reiterated the same information and then some on the publication site Newsweek:

“In terms of other modes, there is the alternative story mode that I mentioned before and the character creator that is a key element of SoulCalibur. That’s going to be in there, we don’t know how it’s going to look yet. There will be online modes, of course, but how all of this is going to play out, I’d say stay tuned.”

Furthermore, there will be different online modes to play, but the producer notes that more news on that will come later. Okubo also mentioned that there are more modes to be revealed (offline) but gave no ETA.

And lastly, Okubo touched on the volume of the campaigns and how they’ll hold the most content in a Soul Calibur game to date:

“In the single-player campaigns, we’ve prepared so much gameplay I think it’s probably gonna be the most volume of content we’ve seen in any Soulcalibur to date, so I’m very excited about that.”

According to Okubo, one mode sounds like it will be another story mode-like thing, but the second mode still remains to be a mystery. With that said, what are your thoughts on these two modes?

Finally, the game is set to release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 19th, 2018.
