Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash Trailers Prep For September 26th Launch

XSeed Games released two new trailer for Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash’s upcoming North American release set for September 26th on the PlayStation 4. The trailers cover the two dueling academies featuring the kunoichis from Hebijo and Crimson Academy.

For those of you who haven’t been keeping up with the game, unlike the previous outings from Marvelous Entertainment for Senran Kagura that focus on the beat-’em-up, hack-and-slash mechanics that gamers have become accustomed to, the Peach Beach Splash is centered around mostly non-violent, third-person water-sports action.

The objective is to douse your opponents with water until you’re the last team standing. A variety of water-weapons are included in the game, ranging from standard water guns to water balloons, hoses, and a few other typical and original aquatic utilities. You can check out the first trailer below.

The first trailer covers the various characters in the Hebijo Clandestine Girls’ Academy, some of their special moves, and their defeated poses.

Each of the girls have their signature weapons, along with a melee attack when getting up close.

The weapon handling is very similar to the likes of Splatoon, where the different weapons offer you different ranges and attack power, suited for the kind of competitive edge that best suits your play-style.

The second trailer covers Homura’s Crimson Squad, where we get to see the five teammates that make up for the faction.

It starts with the tan-line prone Homura and her rocket-style water blaster, followed by Yomi and her mini-gun water cannon, Hikage and her little water pistol, and Mirai and her two-handed blaster.
Haruka rounds out the group.

It’s a different kind of multiplayer action game, so we’ll see how well the market adapts to the jiggly-prone PvP title when it launches in the West on September 26th for the PlayStation 4. So far the game hasn’t been attacked or come under fire from the usual suspects, so it looks like XSeed will have a relatively controversy-free launch for the title.
