Info on PlayerUnkown’sBattlegrounds Zombies Mode
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has come full circle with being inspired by a mod of a zombie survival game. Now, it has its own version of a zombie mode, although it is not available to the general public quite yet.
What is PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Zombies Mode?
It starts with a small group of humans that are fighting against over 90 other players who cannot equip anything but melee weapons, who are the zombies. It is similar to a Left 4 Dead scenario, except for the fact that the zombies are controlled by players.
Currently, the mode is only available to be hosted by ‘PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds Partners’ who advertise the game. They are able to make it publicand allow regular players to join. Because of the fact that the host gets to choose who is a zombie or human, players can expect to be a zombie more often than not.
How to Play
When you start the game, hover over the ‘Play’ button and go to the ‘Custom Matches’ button at the very bottom of the menu. A window will then appear, showing all of the custom game lobbies. Filter the lobbies so that those with the word ‘zombie’ in the name are the only ones that show up. The results will be primarily zombie mode games. At this point, just join any of the games, and start punching.
Tips on Zombies Mode
On the off chance that you do actually get to play as a human, grab all of the ammo that you can find, and ration it wisely. When the circle starts to get smaller, you’ll get swarmed by all of the zombies that you haven’t killed yet. It is better to use any first aid kits or healing items before the circle gets too small because by then, you are being attacked and have barely any time to use them. Finally, running with your weapon unequipped will allow you to run faster.
As for being a zombie, strength in numbers holds true. It is entirely possible for the zombies to overwhelm the humans by simply outnumbering them. Because of this, it is very beneficial for zombies to land near the center of the map and try to stick together.
Unfortunately, this means that the zombies are not meeting the humans until the circle gets a little smaller. You have to find some way to entertain yourself. This may mean going and punching out the wheels of nearby cars, finding potential hiding places and camping them out, or even guarding crates. Okay, yes that is boring, but the goal is to try to keep the humans from getting even more powerful, and stay occupied until the humans come to you.
Have Fun
Zombies mode is radically different from the regular mode of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Zombies by nature, can’t pick up or equip anything past some melee weapons, which also includes skins. This is very jarring when coming from the original mode, where the priority is set on finding some PUBG items such as armor, guns, or consumables to increase your chances of survival. The zombie’s strength in numbers also lets you gather with other players, whereyou would rather avoid others in the original mode.
With these differences, it would be quite hard to play the zombies mode as if you’re playing the regular mode. If the other players aren’t having fun, then you won’t have fun either, and they won’t come back for a while. That is why some hosts decide to spice things up a bit by only having certain guns to choose from and whatever is able to be gathered from crates, or even so far as only letting humans use cars. This levels the playing fields for the zombies, which in turn, makes it more fun for everyone.
