Star Wars Battlefront 2 made headlines before and after its release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One for all the wrong reasons. One particular reason happens to be the microtransaction and progression system, both of which will see a rework sometime this month. The question at hand here is, will the update fix its current reputation or dampen it?
EA and DICE confirmed over on Star Wars Battlefront 2’s official site some time ago that there will be an update due out this March. No specific date has been revealed as to when this big patch will drop, but given that we are inching closer to the mid-part of March should mean news is around the corner, right?
Assuming no delays or mishaps have preoccupied the team working on Star Wars Battlefront 2, the following information should hold true:
“We’re working on a revamped progression system. Your feedback has been essential here, and we are preparing significant changes to progression that will address many of the things we’ve seen players asking for. We’ll be sharing more details about these changes in March.”
Star Wars HQ is a YouTube channel that primarily covers all things Star Wars, and with that said comes a more in-depth take on what might come this March to Star Wars Battlefront 2.
The progression system and MTX model will see a change, but will the future model have fans upset or appeased? And more importantly, will this new system attract more government bodies to investigate the game and the games industry?
According to a DICE developer named Dennis Brännvall, as featured in Star Wars HQ’s video, the update isn’t an easy task. However, Brännvall and team are wrapping up work on the next patch as noted below.
Wrapping up work on the next patch. Extremely proud of the work done by our UI and Online team for this one – it wasn't easy. You guys rock!

The March patch will supposedly fix the progression system, the MTX model, and more features in Star Wars Battlefront 2 sometime later this month.
