Vampyr Will Not Use Any Denuvo Tech

It looks like gamers will not face Denuvo anti-tamper tech or any DRM when Vampyr launches on June 5th. Folks wondering whether it will show up in Focus Home Interactive and Dontnod’s game will no longer have to worry thanks to a developer confirming this on social media.

Back in late 2017, Dontnod noted that Vampyr would not feature predatory loot-boxes or manipulative microtransactions. Additionally, the company wanted to focus on a fun single-player vampire game set around 1914-1920 War in London.

Moreover, Dontnod also explained that there is no DLC planned for Vampyr. The reason behind this move is that the devs wanted to streamline the solo experience, and they felt different layers of DLC would disrupt that experience.

In addition to the above, it looks like loot-boxes, microtransactions, and DLC will not be the only things excluded from Vampyr. According to a recent tweet by the Vampyr team, the game will not sport any DRM or Denuvo anti-tamper tech.

You can read over the tweet that publication site DSOG picked up disclosing the act of no DRM below:

Given that we only have a couple of weeks to go before Vampyr launches for public consumption, we’ll finally be able to see what the game has to offer gameplay wise and how the much talked about solo experience pans out.

Lastly, Dontnod also shined a little light on the denizen system. You can balance the overall health of citizens by choosing/sparing people. Each of the four main districts has their own health status gauge, which is affected by the number of dead, sick and healthy citizens in that area. This means all shops, citizen side quests and regular inhabitants in that district will be permanently gone if all citizens succumb to death, which those citizens will be replaced by “deadly enemies.”

Vampyr will release on June 5th across PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
