QLOC Will Handle Dark Souls Remastered PC Port

At this point most PC gamers who wait for ports of a game should be familiar with QLOC and their work. Well, it has been announced that QLOC will help with Bandai Namco and From Software’s Dark Souls Remastered PC port.

Despite the misunderstanding or controversy over the 50% off deal that sprung up as of recent over Bandai Namco and From Software’s Dark Souls Remastered PC port, there seems to be a crowd looking forward to this Remastered title.

According to gamerevolution.com we learn that the remaster itself is being handled by QLOC. The team is currently in the process of bringing the updated version to PC when it releases for public consumption.

The action-adventure RPG remaster will sport resolution and frame rate upgrades, and if you want to see what each platform has to offer regarding resolution and frame rate a list showing PC and home console specs sit below.

Resolution and Frame Rate:

  • Xbox One – (1080p, 60 FPS)
  • PlayStation 4 – (1080p, 60 FPS)
  • Xbox One X – (upscaled 4K,60 FPS)
  • PlayStation 4 Pro – (upscaled 4K, 60 FPS)
  • PC – (Native 4K, all textures 2K unconverted, 60 FPS)
  • Nintendo Switch – (TV mode: 1080p, 30 FPS; Handheld mode: 720p 30 FPS)

If you don’t know who this QLOC happens to be, the company is responsible for the most recent Injustice 2 PC port, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen PC port, Resident Evil 6, Dead Rising HD Remaster, and more.

As for stuff like DRM making its way to the PC port of Dark Souls Remastered, there’s been no reports so far. I’m sure when its release date nears we’ll not only learn more about if there will be DRM, but more like optimization through gameplay videos.

Finally, Dark Souls Remastered is set to come out for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, and Xbox One X. The remastered game will launch in Japan on May 24th, and on May 25th across the West.
