Daymare 1998 Set To Release On PS4, Xbox One April 28th, 2020

Destructive Creations has announced that the console version of Daymare 1998 will make its debut on home consoles this spring beginning April 28th, 2020. This arrives a year after the game launched on PC with a decent measure of success.

The game is themed around rekindling the B-movie survival-horror experience that was popularized by Resident Evil. However, it includes some new-school quality of life features, such as an over-the-shoulder camera instead of a fixed camera, as well as an easy-to-access inventory management screen.

The announcement for the home console release on Xbox One and PS4 came via a tweet from the official Destructive Creations Twitter account on February 6th, 2020.

As mentioned, the game will also receive a physical retail release in European Union states as well as in the U.S., for the PS4.

For gamers who may not like the direction that the current crop of Resident Evil games have made, Daymare 1998 is a little like Resident Evil 6 but without the dose of Hollywood steroids attached.

You play several different characters across the course of the game as the story unfolds where a deadly gas turns whoever it encounters into a raging zombie.

The game is filled with lots of zombie encounters, a few puzzles, and several different locations.

The game was obviously always designed to accommodate the home consoles since it was built on the Unreal Engine 4, and it’ll likely be able to build on and expand upon the current crop of niche fans who purchased the game for PC.

With a decent advertising campaign they might be able to pull off some equally decent sales on the eighth-gen twins.

We’ll find out how well it does when it drops on April 28th, 2020 for PS4 and Xbox One.
