Project Scarlett Will Gain New First-Party Games Every Four Months, Says Head Of Xbox Game Studios

The head of Xbox Game Studios is Matt Booty, and according to a recent interview, the next-gen Xbox will gain a new game every three to four months. This includes the run-up to Project Scarlett and presumably beyond.

Yes, Mr. Booty had a chat with website gamesradar.com, and we learn from the interview that the next-gen Xbox will have a slew of first-party games leading up to its launch.

While I’m sure the quality of these games will be on par with the current year political woke agenda, right now, we have no clue what games will release leading up to Project Scarlett’s launch.

Aside from Halo: Infinite, not much is known about the Xbox first-party scene. With that said, you can get a peek into the “exclusive scene” thanks to Booty saying the following about first-party Xbox games:

“We feel really good heading into 2020. We’ve got a goal of being able to deliver a game, roughly, every three to four months. We have a little bit of work to do to get there. It’ll be lumpy, but we’re closer than we were. And so we feel really good going into 2020 – and the run-up to Project Scarlett – with our content line-up.”

I’m guessing somewhere between Q2 or Q3 2020, we’ll see more first-party games announced. If Mr. Booty’s words hold any weight, around Q4 or Holiday season, we’ll see the launch of Project Scarlett.

After the launch of Project Scarlett, it’s unclear if this move will continue? Additionally, will we see more first-party games hit the games market after a three to four-month period? Again, the quality of these first-party games are up in the air, but given that the Xbox team wants more Japanese and Asian studios to fill the first-party slot, we could see a slew of Eastern games surface throughout next year and 2021.

In the meantime, we’ll have to wait and see what these first-party games look like for the next-gen Xbox console come 2020 and beyond.
