Days Gone Sequel Discussed In New Bend Studio Report

If you happen to hate Sony with a passion as well as Days Gone, or maybe you have enjoyed yourself with the PS4 game, it looks like SIE and Bend Studio are showing more interest in making the sequel to the 2019 open-world survival game.

Last month, we reported on the possibility of Bend Studio working on a new title since one developer’s Linkedin profile reveals a new game is in the works.

The thing is, we don’t know if it’s the sequel to Days Gone or if it’s a return to the classic Syphon Filter franchise that landed in the wild way back in 1999. Additionally, it wouldn’t be out of the norm given that Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) filed for Syphon Filter‘s trademark back in 2017.

Although it seems like we could see Syphon Filter gearing up to release in 2020 or beyond, website gamingbolt.com shines light on a recent report that sees studio director Chris Reese talking about exploring more of Days Gone’s world.

The publication site highlights Reese’s response to Days Gone winning the Golden Joystick award for best storytelling of 2019 and how it’s a great motivator to stick with the franchise going forward:

“It is certainly a passion of ours, and that’s what we’ve always wanted to do. This is a world that we want to keep breathing more life into, and explore many, many different avenues.”

Reese continues:

“It’s awesome, because there was so much dedication and hard work from the team, and this is kind of the final payoff for that. To see the players actually engage with the game and really enjoy the passion that we put into it, to see that come back, it’s awe inspiring.”

The real question that must be asked is, do you want to see Syphon Filter made in current year where social justice and other propaganda runs rampant? Also, if this new game hinted by one of Bend Studio developer’s Linkedin profile is Days Gone 2, do you think it will launch on both the PS4 and PS5 or just on the latter platform?
