The last time EA’s CFO, Blake Jorgensen, spoke on a game shipping six million copies within a specific time frame was Anthem, and we all know how that turned out for the vapid, glitchy and broken looter-shooter. Well, Jorgensen has spoken again during EA’s investor call and anticipates Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to ship six to eight million copies by March 2020.

Catching wind from website dualshockers.com, the publication found out that ahead of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s launch, which is in just a few weeks, Jorgensen outlined how EA expects the third-person action-adventure game to perform on the market.

In addition to the above, Jorgensen said that by the end of EA’s current fiscal year, which will end on March 31st, 2020, the game is expected to ship between six and eight million units around the world.

I’m sure this whole situation is ringing a familiar bell, no? In fact, the same thing happened with Anthem earlier this year.

In fairness, though, the difference between Anthem and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s shipment is quite significant. For starters, Jorgensen and crew expected Bioware’s online game (that launched on February 22nd) to move five or six million units within six weeks. The upcoming Star Wars game has extra time with six months on hand.

We’ll find out how well the forthcoming action-adventure title pans out since it’s nearing its mid-November release. Also, EA and Respawn Entertainment are releasing the game on PC and home consoles, where the former has both Origin and Steam to help bolster sales.

Lastly, one rule of thumb to know whether a game is performing well is to check its launch week price. If a title ends up in the bargain bin like Anthem or faces deep discounts like Control or Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, then you know the game is a failure.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is due out on November 15th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
