Two new trailers have been let loose courtesy of YouTuber Tekken REC. The first trailer is a typical collage of fighting game goodness, recounting a lot of the moves, faces and fisticuffs that gamers have grown to love over the years from the Tekken series. The second trailer is 45 seconds of pure Japan. I kid you not.
DSO Gaming spotted the two new videos and posted them up for all to see. Unfortunately, only one trailer garnered a lot of fan feedback and support: the first trailer. You can that one out below.
That’s a sleek trailer. It’s odd because the title is dated July 12th, 2014 but it’s only recently been posted up for all the world to see. Even still, the action looks pretty good, if not somewhat expected.
I think most fans are just happy to see a lot of returning faces in a bigger, better game for the home consoles (and PC?)
Before getting too excited, fans also witnessed the Lucky Chloe video. You can check it out below. It’s very… well, it’s very Japanese. I’ll say that much.
Over on YouTube the top comment had something to do with Anita Sarkeesian and the following comments consisted of weaaboos, Otaku culture and fans disappointed with shock-pop imagery being present in Tekken 7. Man, I wonder what they would think about Athena from the King of Fighters series from back in the mid-to-late 1990s?
If you click through the video above to get a look at the dislike bar, you’ll see that it verifies that the butthurt is real.
Anyway, the game is scheduled to launch in 2015 for home consoles. Even though it’s built on the Unreal Engine 4 and the lead is apparently PC, the game actually hasn’t been confirmed for release on PC by Namco… which is kind of a shame. Nevertheless, Bandai Namco’s bid to produce more PC games has been both apparent and steady, so it’s not unlikely that Tekken 7 will release on Steam.
