I haven’t been keeping up to date as much with Garry’s Mod mods, but there are a few that manage to slip through the cracks and spill out into gaming media… like a playable version of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2; complete with the deadly animatronic cast and crew from Freddy Fazbear’s pizza parlor.

There’s a video showcasing how the mod is played from popular YouTuber Venturian Tale. I’ll reserve judgment about what people think (and what I think) about Venturian Tale. But one thing you can’t deny is that he always highlights working mods for GMod and that’s a pretty cool thing given how often GMod crashes and dies just trying to install simple things.

Anyway, the Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 mod has working cameras, working bots, real deaths and a few map gimmicks that allow you to role-play or reenact the popular horror game within the confines (and available freedoms) of Garry’s Mod. At the five minute mark one of them gets a rather unpleasant response from the bird bot, with what looks like the first ever torpedo-strength, weaponized ejaculation.

The rest of the video is mostly just hijinks and a lot of witless banter. It’s par the course for the YouTuber.

Nevertheless, the highlight of being able to play a full game in another full game is kind of cool. I mean, technically you could combine this mod with the Slender Man mod, and attempt to avoid being hunted by both Slender Man and Freddy Fazbear. You could also load up the realistic weapon mods and attempt to gun down the bots, something that most people would probably find to be rather cathartic after being murdered and mutilated by the robots repeatedly.
