Five Nights At Freddy’s World Is Free On GameJolt

Earlier this week Scott Cawthon held true to his promise. He re-released Five Nights At Freddy’s World on GameJolt just like he mentioned he would, and he did it for free.

The game is available to download, clocking in at only 237MB. This comes after complaints about the original Five Nights At Freddy’s World release on Steam was considered poorly made with disappointing features.

Cawthon took the criticism to heart and labored arduously to meet the standards that his fans expected from the animatronic world of Freddy Fazbear. Cawthon promised that he would improve the usability features, enhance the accessibility of skills and moves, and upgrade the graphics of the overworld to 3D environments instead of the 8-bit, fuzzy backgrounds from before.

He mentions on the description page that this is the first of many updates to come for the Five Nights at Freddy’s spin-off, writing…

“This is the first updated version FNaF World, featuring a remodeled overworld and many other new features. More updates to come!”

I’m not sure what else he has planned for the game but fans of the original are have already flocked to the GameJolt page and have downloaded Five Nights at Freddy’s World more than 239,000 times as of the writing of this article. That’s far more than the amount of people who first purchased the game when it appeared on Steam briefly, which had around 40,000 or so sales by the time Cawthon decided to pull the plug.

Hopefully he decides to return the game to the Steam library at some point. The discussion threads for Five Nights at Freddy’s World on the Steam forums is still bustling with activity and going strong. That’s impressive for a game no longer listed on Valve’s digital distribution service.

For now you can download a free copy of Five Nights At Freddy’s World by heading on over to the GameJolt page.
