Naughty Dog Showcases One Hour Of Uncharted 4 Gameplay

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is shaping up to being one of the most interesting games for the PS4 so far, and if you are looking forward to owning the game and want to get a few early peeks in, a new Twitch stream will quench your thirst. However, if you don’t want any potential spoilers, it’s advised to back out now.

Previous Uncharted games always took players on crazy adventures around the world in search of treasure, with some pretty nice looking graphics and environments too, and it seems as if Uncharted 4 is no exception. Thanks to a full one hour live stream video that Naughty Dog posted up on Twitch, the Madagascar stage provides a nice scope of how the enemies will react to players, stealth options, environment scaling and even team interaction — both in and out of action.

During the live stream, Director of Communications Arne Meyer, and Game Designers Nicholas Lance, Zied Rieke and James Cooper, noted some interesting bits about the game and what players can expected from the fourth adventure of Nathan Drake.

While driving, folks will find that rocks, grass, water and mud will feel different while driving through them, and will affect the way the car drives when encountering these elements. Speaking of the vehicle, players will also have alternate routes to take so that they won’t constantly raise alarms while driving, but will be able to use the car for quick transportation either normally, stealthily — by hiding behind rocks or in tall reeds of grass — or by going guns blazing.

Uncharted 4 twelve tower 2Additionally, if the vehicle is used stealthily and you leave your companions behind, instead of sitting around in the jeep, they will inspect the car, chat about it or even walk around scoping the area out for potential threats.

Looking over to the dialog and conversations, during action sequences they will only say things according to the situation and what needs to be said “then or now,” instead of saying ill placed things in dire times. This means if a conversation carries over in to battle, they will cut the sentence short and react to the sudden conflict.

As for difficulty settings, it follows the typical “raise the difficulty and expect more and worse encounters.” For instance, the difficulty “Crushing” adds more security around the area as well as counterparts wielding devastating fire arms like RPGs, DMRs and other fatal weapons.

Uncharted 4 was also noted by the devs to see an increase with your teammates helping out more. This includes team take downs, assistance when grappling enemies, and firing at enemies instead of wasting ammo blindly around them.

If that sounds interesting, you can watch the whole thing below, as the devs explore the beautiful recreation of Madagascar in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. In addition, if the video doesn’t work, you can go directly to Naughty Dog’s Twitch channel to watch it.
