Batman: Return To Arkham Arrives This Summer

Warner Bros., Games’ worst kept secret has been the HD (although they were already in high definition) remasters of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City for the Xbox One and PS4. That secret has finally been let out of the bag.

Originally leaked by various retailers, as reported by OnlySP, Batman: Return to Arkham had been a long rumored collection coming to Sony and Microsoft’s home consoles. The game has now officially been announced for both the PS4 and Xbox One with a gritty two minute trailer that you can check out below.

I find it absolutely hilarious that the comments have been turned off on that video, almost as if Warner Bros., fears reprisal from a gaming community that doesn’t forgive or forget.

It’s a bold move from the company to continue to treat the PC gaming market as some sort of redheaded stepchild. As noted in the video above, Batman: Return to Arkham – which features both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City and all of the previously released DLC for both games – it will only be arriving on the PS4 and Xbox One, likely digitally but most definitely physically. What it won’t be appearing on is PC.

This appears to be part of Warner Bros’ latest initiative to cut the PC market out of their endeavors, which started with them throwing up their hands and giving up on their piss-poor port of Batman: Arkham Knight, and then following through with the completely absent release of Mortal Kombat XL on PC, along with forfeiting PC gamers a balance patch and the second season DLC of the original Mortal Kombat X. It’s a real middle-finger move by the publisher, likely as some sort of payback for them being crappy at putting out games. I don’t know why they’re making PC gamers suffer for their incompetence, though.

Anyway, rumor has it that Batman: Return to Arkham will be arriving June 10th, as noted by Inverse. That was the date that the retailers haphazardly leaked out like pee in the diaper of whining baby.

Additionally, the port of the two games arriving on the PS4 and Xbox One is being handled by Virtuos Games, best known for the mobile port of Mortal Kombat X and Injustice: Gods Among Us. They’ve been working as a port house for Warner Bros., Interactive Entertainment for quite some time, so we’ll see how well they handle moving Xbox 360 and PS3 titles to the Xbox One and PS4.

As noted in the trailer above, you can look for Batman: Return To Arkham to launch sometime this summer for the eighth-gen twins.
