Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Coming To Xbox One, PS4, PC In 2016

After making waves and kicking butt back in 2015 with the release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Dimps and Bandai Namco Entertainment are teaming up once again to bring gamers Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

The new game in the long running Dragon Ball franchise will see players attempting to correct the past and the future in the Dragon Ball universe. The original game saw players creating their own character and traveling throughout various periods in the Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT realms to correct certain events by some multi-dimensional villains. To help commemorate the announcement, Bandai sent out a debut trailer for the game, featuring cinematic sequences and a few brief glimpses of some of the stages and worlds that players will visit.

According to Coming Soon, the game will sport an all new hub city where players will pick up quests, grab new clothes and hone their skills. They also mention that the game will contain far more customization features than what was present in the first game.

I was already thoroughly impressed with the customization options in the first Dragon Ball Xenoverse game. Dimps did a magnificent job in allowing players to create their own wacky, serious, deadly or unique looking character that could very well fit into the Dragon Ball universe as if they were a regular character from the manga or anime.

Fighting wise, the game was a-okay. If you’re into the more ki-focused, projectile-based fighting present in many of the Dragon Ball Z titles, then you’ll feel right at home with the mechanics in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

They don’t mention anything about new gameplay mechanics or what new fighting features they’re adding, but Coming Soon notes that we’ll learn more about the game come E3.

They don’t give an official release date but gamers can expect the title to release sometime later this year, likely during the holiday season.
