Overwatch Now Available For PS4, Xbox One, PC

After trending on social media for like entire week, Blizzard’s first-person team-based shooter, Overwach, has officially launched both in physical format at retailers and digitally via select e-tailers.

As a lore-rich universe the game could have had potential, but it’s not a story-oriented affair, just a team-based deathmatch game. It mirror’s play-styles and elements from MOBA games, with players being able to assume the role of nearly two dozen heroes, each with their own abilities and specialties. Some of these include using melee weapons and putting up shields to protect teammates, while for others this includes rewinding time and blasting down opponents where they least expect it.

You can check out a compilation for all 21 heroes and their abilities in a compilation put together by ADAPT Chance with the half hour video below.

If you’re curious how these characters play in the actual game, there’s already some gameplay videos being posted up on YouTube that give you an idea of what you can expect from each of these characters and how we’ll they play in real live scenarios and not just promotional teaser pieces.

YouTuber Rhykker put together nearly four hours of footage from Overwatch covering the game’s characters spanning the four different game modes. You can check out the two part video series below.

The game is available for $60 for the PS4, PC and Xbox One. It’s really not my kind of game, but if you’re into generic shooters where there’s a pretty big focus on teamwork in small five-on-five arenas, you might enjoy Overwatch.

Personally, I wish the game had a real story mode given how rich the lore to the world is. Overwatch could have been an easy must-buy if it had the single-player and co-op campaign mode that Battleborn has. Oh well.

You can learn more about the multiplayer shooter by visiting the official Overwatch website.
