Sengoku Basara: Sanada Yukimura-den Receives New Screenshots

Looks like Capcom has come around with another game similar to Dynasty Warriors,  rocking the moniker Sengoku Basara: Sanada Yukimura-den. The game is published and developed by Capcom and will hit the PS3 and PS4 over in Japan on August 25th.

From the looks of the new screenshots the game plays out very similar to games that Koei Tecmo and Omega Force make. Now I gotta be honest here, I like one man army games that take on the musou style with dynamic move-sets and a wide variety of characters, I just hate when the genre gets milked and rehashes a lot of the previous assets and mechanics.

I can’t tell if this game will throw its own twist to the musou genre or if it will follow suit and become another series that plays out like the rest of the Dynasty Warriors games. However it goes, you can check out a slew of new screenshots showing the PS4 game.

Like most games that are slated to come out over in Japan, there’s no release date noting when Western folks will see the hack and slash game Sengoku Basara come over. But I’m sure that will be addressed in the future.

Hopefully the game provides a nice list of original moves so that you don’t have to keep doing the same move over and over. And speaking of doing the same thing over, hopefully the missions won’t consist of killing one guard post to take a base over to head to the boss to finish the mission.

From the screenshot above, we do see a point-to-point mission where the main character is riding a horse to a specific destination displayed by a bar over head.

Lastly, Capcom’s game will hit the PS3 and PS4 over in Japan on August 25th, while a western release hasn’t been announced yet.
