Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse received a new English video trailer revealing that it will be heading to western fans sometime this Summer. Although no specific release date was announced, we do know that it will be available for 3DS owners this year.
Announced through a new “Story Trailer” video, Atlus USA has confirmed that the long running JRPG will be coming this Summer for 3DS folks. Demon slaying and navigating mazes will still be prominent in the world of Shin Megami Tensei: Apocalypse, which sports the theme of humans and gods battling.
Speaking of the game’s premise, the story involves a human pawn being shuffled across the higher deities’ chessboard. If you are holding out and don’t want to learn any more of the story, it’s best to skip this part and jump into the trailer below. For those that are interested and can’t wait, one lone Hunter standing as the game’s protagonist has an early death and makes a pact with a lesser god. Brought back to life in exchange to serve the lesser god, the protagonist joins up with other Hunters and ventures through the post-apocalyptic setting in Tokyo, while going through cross over events of the original Shin Megami Tensei IV.
If you want to see all of this in action, the trailer provides somewhat of the above. With that said the minute and a half video can be seen below, courtesy of Atlus USA.
Those looking to get caught in the battle of angels and demons will find themselves in the post-apocalyptic setting of Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse sometime this Summer. No specified date has been revealed just yet, but I’m sure the devs will soon unveil that soon.
