Microids released a new video for Syberia 3 along with the official release date for the game. Gamers can expect to get their hands on the title starting December 1st on the Xbox One, PS4 or PC.
TechRaptor spotted the new video that was posted up by Microids, which spends a good three and a half minutes going over how the game is now running in full 3D and that they’re utilizing depth of field effects, new particle effects and HD assets to help bring the game world to life in a new cinematic fashion.
You can check out the video below to get an idea of what Syberia 3 will look like.
The general plot is explained in the press release that accompanies the reveal of the game’s release date as December 1st, where it’s stated…
“As a reminder, this new episode of Kate Walker’s journey begins as she finds herself adrift on a makeshift craft. Fortunately, a caravan of the Youkol people, whom she had already encountered in Syberia 2, finds her before her life slips away. Determined to evade their common enemies, Kate decides to help the nomads fulfill the oddest of their ancestral traditions: accompanying the transhumance of the snow ostriches to the holy steppes where they can reproduce.”
Sounds like a Discovery channel documentary turned into a Steven Spielberg film.
The fans on the YouTube page are absolutely ecstatic about the news for the game arriving on home consoles and PC this upcoming December. It’s been a whole decade since the last game came out, so a new entry in the long running series is seen as long overdue.
The point and click nature of the game will return, along with the same kind of tricky, mind-bending puzzles that will require astute minds to solve. All of this will take place within the realm of a fully 3D rendered game world; a first for the series.
As if it bears a need to be repeated, you can look for Syberia 3 to launch for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on December 1st. For more info feel free to pay a kind visit to the game’s official website.
