Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization Third Trailer And Mobile Game Announced

If you are looking to get your Sword Art Online dose in for the day Bandai Namco has you covered. Releasing the third trailer for the JRPG, the devs also announced that a free-to-play mobile game will be available for iOS and Android devices as a side-scrolling RPG.

The console version of Sword Art Online, better known as Hollow Realization, is set to come out for PS Vita and PS4, while the mobile version of the game, Memory Defrag, will be for iOS and Android devices. Both games were announced during Bandai Namco’s live stream earlier today.

As for the former, or Hollow Realization, folks will be treated to a new character named Genesis (voiced by Kazuyuki Okitsu), who follows under the same moniker as Kirito as “the Black Swordsman.”

In addition to the news that was live streamed by Bamco, both the PS Vita and PS4 versions will support cross-save. Aside from that info, the game will come out on October 27th in Japan, and will hit the west sometime this Fall. You can check out the video trailer below.

Looking over to the mobile version of Sword Art Online (Memory Defrag) we see that the devs opted for a side-scrolling RPG premise, which seems like another mobile clicker. Folks who are interested in this version will find that it’s a free-to-play game that follows the anime series, as well as the original version.

Bosses and characters from the anime will also make an appearance in the mobile title, and will feature equipment based traits that will affect each characters’ stats and actions. Speaking of actions, players will be able to control attacks and moves with a tap or flick to parry, switch, jump and guard attacks. The video below shows the mobile game in action.
